Veil dancing has also left its mark on the history of Burlesque. Performers like Mata Hari and the legendary figure of Salomé brought the art of concealing and revealing to the stage.
For Anna Venture, Oriental Dance is something deeply personal. She took her very first dance steps with her sister, who introduced her to this beautiful art form. Anna spent twelve years performing as an Oriental dancer before discovering her passion for Burlesque.
In this workshop, Anna takes you back to her dancing roots. You’ll learn a classical Oriental-style veil choreography, focusing on flowing movements, elegant turns and the beautiful lightness of the veil.
A choreography that shines on its own but can also be beautifully incorporated into a Burlesque act.
